Premise

The U.S. adaptation, set in Scranton, Pa., at a paper company is somewhat faster paced than the British original. However, the characters essentially are the same -- from Michael Scott, the worst boss ever, to everyman Jim, smitten with pert receptionist Pam when he isn't preoccupied with baiting his high-strung, brown-nosing co-worker Dwight.
